My best wishes, dear lady, for your steady and complete recovery. I love it that you draw lessons useful to us all from even frustrating events of life. You are a precious repository of thoughts.

That’s a lovely way to describe overthinking!

To be honest, I have never considered overthinking a flaw, except where it slides into repetitive, compulsive patterns that do not build on reached demonstrations and logic. The latter is one of the risks of thinking alone (ask me how I know). But in particular in social environments, overthinking in its best manifestation (the not OCD one) is a boon for people who find the "repository" available to them.

Because you were so ill, I feel a little strange admitting how much this article delighted me. Recovery is slow and the body does lie—and yet we're stuck with it.

Best wishes for your continued improvement. If nothing else, you need to be strong enough to set the cat on the exotic dancers.

So many of us on the internet are wishing you a speedy and great recovery. Personally, I've enjoyed this piece every bit as much as your sociopolitical essays , and it's brought home to me what a very witty writer you are.

What a beautiful setting you have found to give your body, however untrustworthy its signals, a change to catch up to your mind. You are the best!

I was just thinking today that I missed seeing your posts on Substack 🤗

I like to think of episodes like this as “repairing my relationship with my body.” Body and I need to listen to each other, cooperate and co-exist. You’ll get better at understanding the signals.

If we could trace "listen to your body" back to its source we might find a chocolatier, distiller, or some other purveyor of sin.
